I must admit that clicking sharp images of the moon is hard work and needs a lot of practice and the right gears.

I always preferred the gibbous moon to the full moon. It is possible to capture the details of the moon when she is in the gibbous phase. Gibbous refers to the phase when the moon is more than half illuminated.

I used a 70-300mm zoom lens to capture the moon with an ISO of 200 and shutter speed of 1/200s. This shutter speed is necessary because not many realize that the moon moves faster than you think. A slower shutter speed will give you a blurred image.
